Rui LimaRui Lima comes from Sao Vicente, Cape Verde. At 17, he was already singing in the parties of Mindelo at night. He was part of various ballroom bands and also dancer and choregrapher of famous dance crew MINDEL’STARS. He moved to France in 1992 where he kept animating ballroom parties. His forst album with the band Sanjhera was recorded at that time. He has ever since recorded 4 solo albums along with numerous featuring with other Cape Verdean artists. Among the 10 tracks included in SER FELIZ, he has written eight. In this album, he sings the inavoidable love and sodade of his birth islands. He pays a tribute to the various traditional holidays of the country by visiting the different styles of Cape Verdean music – coladeira, sanjon, batuku but also Afro Zouk.
